While developing products, we need to move from the traditional Technology Management approach, which mainly concentrates on product Innovation and commercialization, to a multimodal Innovation management-based approach with four components.
Multimodal Innovation involves research and development into tangible products, services, processes, and business models. Innovation categories can be radical, disruptive, evolutionary, or integrative.

As shown in this CMMI-based model, Value creation in AI4R&D isn’t one-dimensional. We need to consider multiple perspectives. By leveraging AI across all these dimensions, we can ensure our R&D efforts are scientifically sound, commercially viable, and socially responsible.
